My name is Eric.  I’m a newly minted retired person.  I started this blog because I’m going to begin my retirement years with a road trip.  I plan to wander around the south and southwest for the next three and a half months living in a pop up camper.

I told my kids when I first began to hatch this plan that I wanted to learn how to blog the trip so they could follow along.  Since then many other family and friends have expressed an interest in following along as well, so my greatest hope for the blog is to make it worthy of their interest.

This blogging thing is completely new to me.  So bear with me.  It will probably look like I’m learning as I go, which is exactly what’s happening.
